Kisah AKU n Toon Army Forever!

Assalamualaikum,

Newcastle United, nama yang tak asing lagi dalam sejarah Liga Perdana Inggeris. Ditubuhkan pada tahun 1892 di Newcastle Upon Tyne, timur England. Kelab ini mempunyai reputasi sebagai kelab gergasi England selama beberapa dekad dan mempunyai penyokong setia (Geordies) baik di tanah air sendiri mahupun diluar negara.

1992 - 100 tahun berlalu, brader ni lahir dan ditakdirkan menjadi seorang penyokong NUFC from Malaysia. Toon Army Malaysia (TAM) merupakan cabang Geordies di Malaysia. Aku joined group ni tapi tak pernah pun datang MV..hii.

Walaupun ada beberapa kelab besar yang ditubuhkan di Timur England seperti Middlesbrough dan Sunderland, Newcastle yang digelar The Magpies berada didalam kelas tersendiri. St. James' Park merupakan home ground bagi skuad hitam putih ini dan telah menyaksikan 4 League Championship (equivalent to Premier League), 6 FA Cup, 1 Fairs Cup (equivalent to Europa Cup) dan 1 UEFA Intertoto Cup trofi yang berjaya dibawa kesini, together with some numbers of honor trophies.

Zaman kegemilangan The Magpies bermula ketika era 1900 dengan memenangi 4 kejuaraan, dan tidak dinafikan 1990-2005 merupakan kemuncak kepada pasukan ini. Digelar The Entertainer, skuad yang dikemudi oleh King Kev (Kevin Keegan) memecah dominasi gergasi Liga Perdana Inggeris ketika itu, seperti Manchester United, Arsenal dan Liverpool dengan menjadi antara kelab pencabar kejuaraan sekitar tahun 1993-1997. Lagenda kelab seperti Alan Shearer, Les Ferdinand, David Ginola, Andy Cole, Faustino Asprilla merupakan essence of The Entertainer ketika itu.

2002 - Bermulalah perjalanan aku sebagai seorang penyokong kelab ini. Pada mulanya sekadar tertarik dengan jersi hitam putihnya, selepas itu terjatuh cinta dengan beberapa key player seperti Alan Shearer, Laurent Robert, Nolberto Solano, Shay Given, Gary Speed etc and finally it's the gameplay yang menarik membuatkan aku terus menyokong kelab ni. 10 years old Farid at that time, aku dengan bangganya menyarung jersi hitam putih Newcastle United ketika bermain bola, ketika rakan-rakan sebaya menyarung jersi Siemens's Real Madrid, Vodafone's Manchester United, Carl's Liverpool, SEGA's Arsenal dan segala jenis jersi pasukan terkuat ketika itu.  Memang rare! Sebab ramai orang ingat aku pakai jersi Juventus..haha. This club enjoyed it's reputation as the title challenger and antara muka regular yang jadi wakil England untuk Europa Cup until..

This guy owned the Club on 2007 and trigger the decline of my beloved Magpies. Relegated pada season 2008-2009, and luckily made a swift comeback by winning Championship League with a marvelous 102 point. Alan Pardew appointed as the manager and finished 5th untuk season 2011-2012. Terkejut jugak mulanya sebab dah lama tunggu bilalah kelab ni nak jadi title challenger semula. Tak dinafikan we have quality players like Yohan Cabaye, Mehdi Abeid, Demba Ba, Papis Cisse dan Davide Santon yang dibawa masuk. Along with the like of our Ben 10 (Ben Arfa), Jonas Gutierrez, Shola Ameobi dan Moussa Sissoko, Newcastle United sememangnya merupakan sebuah kelab yang dah bangun dari tidurnya ketika itu. But then, langit tak selalunya cerah and this strong team cuma bertahan dua musim je.

Season 2014-2015 saw my active participation, signing the petition for Sack Pardew Campaign and luckily, the team terselamat dari relegation untuk musim tu, and finally for 2015-2016 season, one of the most devastated season in Newcastle's history - relegated again this time some key people hold responsible for our downfall. Yang pertama, confirmed lah the owner, Mike Ashley. Yang kedua I'm going to put Lee Charnley, the MD. These two guys were resposnsible for the management of the Club and they failed. And finally yang ketiga, Steve McClaren who suppose to "coach" the team but eventually failed as well. Yang peliknya we have some reputable footballer playing for the team - Ayoze Perez, Daryl Janmaat, Siem De Jong, Georginio Wijnaldum, Jonjo Shelvey, Andros Townsend and some rising star especially from our back four like Chancel Mbemba, Jamaal Lascelles and of course, our 3rd choice keeper, Karl Darlow yang memang superb. Later, aku dan most of supporters percaya yang it's by the effort of our current manager, Rafael Benitez yang menggilap bakat-bakat yang sedang tidur selama ni. But then, it's too late for him to salvage the ship. Sunderland with their pure luck managed to survived and sent Newcastle for it's second relegation under Ashley's regime.

So, what's next? Let's hope RB will stay, Geordies love him as much as they loves King Kev and Big Al. Aku juga berharap some promising youngsters + veterans akan kekal dalam team, dan recall semula our shining Armstrong, we need him now! And of course, Ashley & Co. boleh berambus dari St. James' Park forever.
